I'm a former professional and certified Riding Master and Instructor of 40+ years who owned and operated a Full Care Horse Boarding and Training facility in Oregon up until 2021 after having a change in marital status.

I didn't want to continue in the horse industry any longer but needed to stay active doing something with animals. I had also raised and bred long legged Jack Russells and Poodles for 15 years during the horse years. I had always groomed my own dogs, self-taught and thought that being a Dog Groomer was an interesting job. So I looked into dog grooming schools and found 2 accredited programs, both of which were offered in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I chose the best of the two and off I went to learn all I could at Merryfield School of Pet Grooming for a 9-month program. It was intense!

 

I graduated in April 2023 and moved to Tennessee by the suggestion of an old high school friend who moved to the Stoney Creek area 6 years prior. I fell in love with the area and people. This is where I wanted to "semi-retire" and live for the rest of my life.

I started a small business side hustle of offering a mobile service trimming dog and cat nails while I searched for a small shop to start a dog grooming business. It was more challenging than initially expected, so my only other option was to find a house to do grooming from home. Well, the housing market was and is challenging, so I opted to rent a house. I eventually found a cute little house in the Stoney Creek area.

I intend to keep my mobile service of trimming nails and offer a home based grooming service to the local area as well.

 

Other plans are to offer a doggy daycare and perhaps overnight stays on occasion.
